Sausage Puffs
Quick and delicious little bites of savory sausage and buttery puff pastry
Ingredients
- 1 package Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets
- 1 pound Jimmy Dean Natural sausage
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk optional
Instructions
- Thaw puff pastry sheets. Whisk egg and milk in a small bowl. Cut pastry along fold lines and roll out each puff pastry segment to approximately 3″ x 12″ lengths with a rolling pin. Cut sausage log into 6 equal portions. Hand-roll each portion into 12″ long link. Lay in center of each puff pastry sheet. Paint one long edge with egg mixture. Take unpainted edge and fold over the sausage link to roll and meet painted edge, sealing the sausage inside the puff pastry. Repeat with all meat and puff pastry sheets. Brush tops with egg wash and cut each long roll into ten 1 1/2″ pieces. Place on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 17-18 minutes. Can be served immediately or frozen for future use.
